(American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) Outpatient total knee replacement patients may have less pain and stiffness than patients who remain hospitalized after surgery, but they also face higher risk for mortality, readmission and dislocation, according to new research presented at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
