French medical researchers have recently demonstrated the effectiveness of a new molecule in the fight against lice. Faced with the emergence of increasing resistance to conventional treatments by these parasites, this new medication represents a real therapeutic alternative which is effective in 95 percent of cases.

(INSERM (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale)) A French multi-center study has shown that a treatment combining an antioxidant with an anti-inflammatory was effective on 174 patients suffering from severe alcoholic hepatitis. The study was coordinated by the Hepato-Gastroenterology department at the Amiens University Hospital Centre and the "Early exposure to alcohol and dependency vulnerability," INSERM 24 research team. Their findings were published in the New England Journal of Medicine on Nov. 10 2011.

The results of this research have been published in the Feb.

INSERM researchers directed by Nicolae Ghinea have shown that the presence of the follicle stimulating hormone receptor coincided with the existence of a cancerous tumor in more than 1,300 patients.

(INSERM (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale)) As part of a project conducted by teams from the University of Cambridge and the Sanger Institute, with collaboration from a team from the Institut Pasteur and INSERM, researchers have demonstrated for the first time that adult stem cells, produced using cells from patients with liver disease, may be genetically corrected before being differentiated to hepatic cells and contributing to liver regeneration in an animal model.
