(University of California - Los Angeles) The National Science Foundation has awarded the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science $7.5 million to renovate current infrastructure for use in sustainability research. Core mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure will be renovated at UCLA Engineering's Boelter Hall to create state-of-the-art research "collaboratories," which will be used for research in technologies for renewable and alternative energy production and storage, sustainable infrastructure, and environmental engineering. The project is scheduled to begin August 2010.
