(Biophysical Society) The Biophysical Society is delighted to announce its 2011 Society Fellows. Fellows are chosen based on their demonstrated excellence in science, contributions to the expansion of the field of biophysics, and support of the Biophysical Society. The fellows will be honored at the awards ceremony during the Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting on Monday March 7, 2011, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md.

(Biophysical Society) The Biophysical Society has announced the winner of its Minority Travel Awards to attend the Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md., March 5-9, 2011. The awards are meant to encourage participation at the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting by minority students currently studying biophysics. Recipients will be honored at a reception on Saturday, March 5.

The eight recipients will receive their awards at the Society's 54th Annual Meeting on Monday, February 22, 2010, at the Moscone Convention and Exhibitions Center in San Francisco, Calif.

(Biophysical Society) The Biophysical Society has announced the winners of its international travel grants to attend the Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md., March 5-9, 2011. The purpose of these awards is to foster and initiate further interaction between American biophysicists and scientists working in countries experiencing financial difficulties. Recipients of this competitive award are chosen based on scientific merit and their proposed presentation at the meeting. They will be honored at a reception on Sunday, March 6.

The recipients of this competitive award are selected based on scientific merit, with priority given to those who will present a paper at the conference. Each awardee receives a travel grant and will be recognized at a reception on Saturday, March 5.

These individuals will be honored at the Awards Symposium at the Society's 56th Annual Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Cali. In addition to receiving their awards at that time, each will give a presentation.

(Biophysical Society) the 9500-member Biophysical Society is pleased to announce the 2011 Student Research Achievement Award Winners. 309 society student members participated in this competitive event held during the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting on March 6 in Baltimore, Maryland. Judges from the Society's subgroups selected twenty winners. The winners were recognized at an awards ceremony on March 7, and received a monetary award.

(Biophysical Society) The Biophysical Society has announced the winners of its CPOW travel awards to attend the Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Md., March 5-9, 2011. CPOW, the Committee for Professional Opportunities for Women, has initiated these travel fellowships to increase the number of women biophysicists and encourage their participation at the Meeting. Each awardee receives a travel grant and will be recognized at a CPOW session on Monday, March 7.

(American Institute of Physics) The Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting takes place from March 5-9, 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. There, more than 6,500 scientists will gather to discuss the latest advances in understanding and breakthroughs in technology at every level of biophysics -- from atoms and molecules to cells, organisms, and environments.
